By The Way

I hope people did notice that in my previous post "Taking a walk helps", the first leave is an elephant disguised in leaves and with its trunk touching the first burly lady's head!

Excitement of the week

I am off to Canberra tomorrow for the floral! And I haven't even started packing ... I know I need sunscreen, which I had just bought with SPF30+,handphone, wallet, cloths .... Let's hope I am all well and up to enjoy the lovely flowers!

This Caught My Eyes!

I was strolling along the streets after posting a letter and this toy caught my eyes! I just remembered how long I had like iMac since I did Human Computer Interaction and was exposed to the mac labs at uni .... walking into the Mac shop, I scrutinized every corner of it, touched every surface of the cool keyboard design which was ergonomically friendly for someone who stays hooked on the PC most of them(surfing hehehe....I ought to be a bit more productive....)The features that excite me most is the operating system itself, very flexible for scripting, in addition, those funky music editing tools are so tempting that I bet they would cause an addiction in me if I were to have it :-P

The day will come, when I get well ...and work :-)

Taking a walk helps ...

I woke up in a horrible mood, I was grouchy and felt like biting everyone that comes in my way, I don't understand why I felt that way .... However, it changed after mid-day *smileys*

I met up with a friend and we both took a stroll and chat about many things, our journey with cancer, how she fought and won over the disease, normal day-to-day stuff, food, diet, silly incidents, etc .... I am surprised to find myself feeling so much better!!!

Moral of the story: exercise and laughter improves general well-being .... PLUS, look at this picture ...it tickles me when people try to hide big things instead of micro ones

I M DROOLING!

As I am looking at this picture of mine, I am craving for some apple strudel which I had a couple of weeks ago, NOPE! I am not having it .........Moderation is the key

My Teeth!

Waking up one morning, I looked into the mirror in absolute horror! How could I have allowed my teeth to degrade to a near cheese-like-color state? I need to do something about it! Racing down to my favourite local pharmacy, Priceline, I scanned down the aisle for all possible types of teeth whitening toothpaste, or even some sort of teeth whitening gel or cream that could salvage my pathetic set of teeth.

I found this, Colgate with Advanced teeth whitening and tartar control, have been using it for close to 3 weeks, it sort of works, I could see gradual improvement when I smile to myself in the bathroom mirror. Being curious of its effectiveness, I read up on how it works, apparently, it is by (get ready for this big word )"Abrasion", which in layman terms mean rubbing away/getting rid of something by friction. So as we brush, the patented whitening accelerator(MPPH-that's the scientific name) along with hydrogen peroxide cleans the surface and intrinsic stains that we accumulate from our food. I suppose I have been using normal toothpaste which doesn't have that much whitening accelerator needed to clean my teeth then! O well, at least it works.

New Toy of The Month

I am sick of my boring old phone not being able to do anything except to make calls, texts, reminders, and some extra functions. It would be so fun and thrilled to have a phone allows me to capture my silly moments and perhaps do a bit of video recording. Lo and behold I went and got myself this toy K610i, absolutely loved it, good battery life, I could go without charging for like 2 days, and if I leave my mobile untouched, it might last longer. Battery life is crucial to me, practicality always count in my philosophy of life, I hate it when I am in the middle of an important conversation, whether it is getting something for my flatmate or confessing my feelings to a guy I had a crush on and getting cut-off in the middle of the conversation is nothing but absolute frustration!

The coolest bit is the wrap function! We could do all silly stuff and wrap them to make them even more silly, or there are loads of frames that allow us to enclose my boring face into a bunny rabbit, for example, cowboy etc. How cool is that! This picture below is one which I took with Harry, my favourite companion, framed into a candlelight setting with my new phone.

Simply Inspiring!

You would never want to miss out this little girl's story! Suffering 85% third degree burns is bad enough and there comes another car accident which left Sophie Delezio with near-fatal injuries. "Sophie's Journey" by Sally Collings is a book you would never want to miss!

I had just finished my sixth round of chemotheraphy, feeling a bit drenched and tired from the journey of battling with cancer, I decided to pick up a book which a good friend of mine bought for me a couple of weeks ago. Sometimes, in fact, many times, I wonder why, a young adult like me, am forced to endure such harsh toils, just turning 24, having a good job, and the next thing, "bang!!!" I am diagnosed with cancer, but, despite all these harsh chemotheraphy drugs, I am absolutely glad that I can still be running around, treating myself with some retail therapy(window shopping is one of my favourite hobby). How unique is this life on earth, in all things, there is always something good, at least that is what I believe!

Back to the book, I am just simply inspired to the core, I was complaining to myself after feeling tired and not being able to go to the movies or hang out with friends during the weekend, but alas, sophie's battle each day is so much more demanding than mine! It is probably due to the fact that we both received treatment around the same vicinity of westmead hospital, and I will always remember the fabulous support that they provide to patients, thus relating to how sophie feels when she constantly interacts with play therapist, physioterapist and etc. Above all, I admire Sophie's courage in keeping her spirits high, being cheerful, smilling, sing "ee--ii--ee--ii--oo" to the children songs, how encouraging!
