We Are Proud of You - Helen!

SNee,

Your cousin sister, Helen, has grown into a lovely girl! Look at her - tall, lanky and demure! This photo has a special appeal in my heart - standing in a dainty pose, smilingly snapping her own photo in front of a seemingly look-like antique window (it's not a real window but actually it's just a piece of intricate window-frame that has been superimposed on a piece of mirror!) She looks unpretentious and being caught in a pensive moment of sheer joy! Any consideration to send this photo for a competition?

1 Aug 2008 was a memorable day for your cousin sister - she received two awards from SGGS!

She does not only excel in academic achievements but she is also good at playing musical instruments like the piano and violin. Now she has added gamelan to her list! The above picture shows the girls listening attentively to a briefing given by the music teacher- advisor before they start their performance.

In action playing the gamelan!

Sharing some light moments with her peers!

Getting a sumptuous treat from proud mummy and daddy (hey, where's daddy?...still busy clicking away?)

Click here to watch the video clip of Helen's 'Hari Anugerah Cemerlang'

As I was watching the video clip, flashes of memories came back, I could still remember one of the chatting sessions when you said to me, 'Mum, you know, Helen is such a talented girl. She will become somebody one day!' 'Yes, she will!'

SNee, we wish so much that you could be here with us to share Helen and her parents' happiness!

Congrats to Shiehnee's cousin Helen! =)

First time I see a award presentation ceremony in Malysia! It's full of flowers, decorations and people playing traditional music.

In Australia, it would just be a simple hall, everyone would gather and the Principal would call out the names and hand out the award. No flowers or decorations and no one playing traditional music. T_T

Are award ceremonies always like this in Malay?

No, they aren't always like this in Malaysia. It depends on the status of the school. For premier schools, award ceremonies will be done in pomp as these occasions are usually graced by VIPs.
