After a nine-month hiatus, finally, I came out from 'hibernation'. During those few months, I went through a very difficult soul-searching journey.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank my parents, brothers and sisters, colleagues, students, Pastor Tay and family, Tay Siew Bi, church sisters and brothers, friends, neighbours and especially the Lo's family for being so caring throughout these few months. Your regular smses, calls, emails, reading materials and prayers help me to pull through my grief, pains and sadness.

It's this lovely poem(a friend printed this for me and I've no idea who wrote this poem) that finally rings a bell, wakes me up and to tell myself that I'm going to start a new life. A new life that is as beautiful as the lovely lotus flower which is able to blossom well despite the murky waters!

I would like to share one of the email messages that touches my heart.

Here goes the story,

It was a busy morning, about 8:30am, when an elderly gentleman in his 80's, arrived to have stitches removed from his thumb. He said he was in a hurry as he had an appointment at 9:00 am.

I had him take a seat, and I saw him looking at his watch. After the examination, I got the needed supplies to remove his sutures and redress his wound. While taking care of his wound, I asked him if he had another doctor's appointment this morning, as he was in such a hurry.

The gentleman told me no, that he needed to go to the nursing home to eat breakfast with his wife. Then I inquired as to her health.

He told me that she had been there for a while and that she was a victim of Alzheimer's Disease.

As we talked, I asked if she would be upset if he was a bit late. He replied that she no longer knew who he was, that she had not recognized him in five years now.

I was surprised, and asked him, 'And you still go every morning, even though she doesn't know who you are?'

He smiled as he patted my hand and said, 'She doesn't know me, but I still know who she is!'

I thought to myself, 'That is the kind of love I want in my life!'

I learn that the physical and romantic attractions not to be the be all and end all in true love. True love is an acceptance of all that is, has been, will be, and will not be!

The happiest people do not necessarily have the best of everything; they just make the best of everything they have!

This is our favourite family car and we really enjoyed having regular 'cruise' in it!

We really love the car, but alas! I had to let it go with a heavy heart.

Now that I'm alone, this car is too big and not practical for me to run daily errands in town.

Moreover, it drinks petrol heavily plus its maintenance cost is really exorbitant!

Taking care of three 'elderly' cars is a big challenge to our family budget,

so I had to downsize the 'fleet of antique cars'(one of them is already 29 years old)!

We are so blessed to have found a new owner for your 'pet' car!

Introducing Encik Sobri and his wife, a loving family from KL.

Encik Sobri, who knows more about cars, will take good care of it!

Our new cute car is not only fuel efficient but also helps to reduce the hassle of finding a parking space when running around busy town areas. Of course, it's not as comfortable as 'our cruiser', but the most important thing is that the maintenance cost of this new 'baby' will not burn a big hole in our pocket!

When you left us 14 months 16 days ago, your Dad was totally devastated!
You are the 'apple of his eyes'! He just couldn't let you go!

Last Monday afternoon, we had a joyful chit-chatting session.
That night, he slept right through without waking up
the next morning!

We are happy that both of you are finally reunited in a beautiful land!
But Mum and Sis are so traumatised to lose both of you!

"BRIDGING LIVES WITH GOD'S LOVE" - Yes, this is RGBC tagline! With this tagline in mind, RGBC has opened up a new ministry where it aims to reach out to our Nepalese friends.

Mum has volunteered to help out in the weekly English class which is specially arranged for them. They are excited and show enthusiasm in their English lessons.

When we organised a christmas party for them, the response was overwhelming as about 171 of them turned up for the celebration! They presented several items and enjoyed themselves very much.

The Pastor entered his donkey in a race and it won.

The Pastor was so pleased with his donkey that he entered

it in the Race again, and it won again.

The local paper read:

PASTOR'S ASS OUT FRONT!

The Bishop was so upset with this kind of

publicity that he ordered the Pastor not to enter the donkey in another race.

The next day, the local paper headline read:

BISHOP SCRATCHES PASTOR'S ASS!

This was too much for the Bishop, so he ordered the Pastor

to get rid of the donkey.

The Pastor decided to give it to a nun in a nearby convent.

The local paper, hearing of the news, posted the following headline the next day:

NUN HAS BEST ASS IN TOWN!

The Bishop fainted.

He informed the nun that she would have to get rid of the donkey,

so she sold it to a farmer for $10.

The next day the paper read:

NUN SELLS ASS FOR $10.

This was too much for the Bishop, so he ordered the nun to buy it back,

and lead it to the plain where it could run wild.

The next day the headlines read:

NUN ANNOUNCES HER ASS IS WILD AND FREE!

The Bishop was buried the next day!

So, what's the moral of the story?

Don't indulge too much in public opinion that can bring you much grief and misery, or even shorten your life!!

Celebrating My First Christmas With Reservoir Garden Baptist Church(RGBC) PENANG Family!

You've always wanted mum to know the Lord and I didn't take it seriously until now. This year, I took a brave move by stepping into a religious church (RGBC) and following its activities for a month. RGBC is like a home church to the community in Reservoir Garden.

I learn to look at things from new perspectives and really understand the 'pulse' of church activities. When I look at how the well-mannered youths sacrificing their time to serve the church (serving food to the golden citizens during the CCF Community Christmas Party, practising hard for the Christmas dance, carolling from house to house etc), I understand now why and how you spent so much time in a real life church! Memories of you came back whenever I watched them dancing away! They reminded me of you - full of zest for life!

Christmas for this year means a lot to me! The church members spread their love abroad to touch our hearts and we are just like one big happy family enlightening lives!
